The Flow

How precious is the flow of Jesus’ love,
It warms the cold ache of guilt
It softens the heart made hard by sin.

How precious is the flow of Jesus’ blood,
It reaches every hidden place
And renews it by His fervent love.

How precious is the flow of mercy
Coming from the throne of grace
Into lives made innocent.

Go and sin no more.
Mark B. Jabusch, “The Flow,” written on July 5, 2025

The love of Jesus Christ reaches the human heart where guilt, sin, and shame have left their deepest wounds. His love does not overlook sin, but meets it with the cleansing power of His blood and the abundance of His mercy. At the cross, Jesus bore our guilt; through His blood, He provides forgiveness and cleansing; and from the throne of grace, He extends mercy to all who come to Him in faith.

The flow of Christ’s love therefore moves from the cross into the human heart. It warms the conscience burdened by guilt, softens the heart hardened by sin, and reaches those hidden places that we would rather leave untouched. His mercy does more than remove condemnation: it restores fellowship with God and calls the forgiven person to a transformed life.

The words of Jesus, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more” (John 8:11), beautifully hold these truths together. Jesus offers mercy without approving sin and forgiveness that leads toward holiness. The one who has experienced the precious flow of His love, blood, and mercy is called to rise from the past and walk in newness of life.
